PETIT DOUBLE MATTRESS DIMENSIONS

The petit double memory foam mattress is 90 x 180cm, and is the smallest double bed available. The petit double mattress is a great for teenagers, or larger children.

The UK double mattress is 135 by 190cm, making it 15cm wider than the small double. It’s ideal for couples as well as guest rooms, as it provides good space for two, and more than ample space for one individual.

EU DOUBLE MATTRESS DIMENSIONS

The largest double mattress measurements available, the EU double mattress (often called a ‘continental double’) has dimensions of 140 x 200cm. At 20cm wider than a small double, the EU double mattress offers good space for couples who move around a lot in bed.

The European double mattress size is 140 x 200cm – meaning it’s 5cm wider than a UK double. As a result, the ‘continental double’ mattress as it’s often known, will fit on a lot of double bed frames. However, it is worth checking if the bed frame would be able to support the extra 5cm of width of the euro double mattress.

The EU double mattress measurements offers a good amount of space for couples.

UK KING MATTRESS DIMENSIONS

The most popular mattress size in the UK, the UK king size mattress is ideal for couples who share their bed with children or pets. King size mattress dimensions are 150cm x 200cm, so the room needs to be relatively spacious to comfortably accommodate it.

The UK king size mattress dimensions are 150 x 200cm – typical for the size. The mattress will fit on the vast majority of king size bed frames, but, as ever, it’s best to measure the bed frame out first before purchasing.

The UK king mattress is perfect for couples who share their bed with children or pets.

EU KING MATTRESS DIMENSIONS

The EU king size memory foam mattress is the largest king size mattress on offer, at 160cm by 200cm. The generous width afforded the EU king mattress means it is ideal for taller individuals and couples, or those who are highly active in their sleep. To comfortably fit an EU King mattress, the recommended bedroom size is at least 305 x 305cm (10 x 10 foot).

The European king size mattress dimensions are 160 x 200cm – affording it 10cm more width than the UK king mattress. Subsequently, whilst the European king mattress will fit on the vast majority of king size bed frames, it may not fit on all – so best to check the size of your bed frame prior to purchasing.

The EU king mattress would be great for taller couples, or those who are extremely active in their sleep.

SUPERKING MATTRESS DIMENSIONS

Slightly wider than an EU king, the Superking mattress is ideal for taller couples who prefer longer mattress dimensions and like a bit of extra space in bed. The dimensions are 180 x 200cm, so it is a full 20cm wider than an EU king.

The super king mattress size is 180 x 200cm – meaning it is a full 20cm more width than the European king size mattress. You may need to purchase a specific super king bed frame for your mattress to fit on due to the extra width.

The superking mattress is an ideal size for taller couples who like a bit of extra space in their bed. 

EMPEROR MATTRESS DIMENSIONS

The second biggest mattress offered by most companies in the memory foam mattress space is the emperor mattress. With dimensions of 200 x 200cm, the mattress can fit very tall individuals and couples in, whilst still leaving room for pets and children to join as well. Due to the mammoth size of the emperor mattress, the recommended bedroom size is for it to be at least 365 x 365cm (12 x 12 foot).

The emperor mattress size is 200 x 200cm. Considerably larger than a UK king (50cm wider in fact), the emperor mattress is suitable for tall individuals and couples. Indeed, you may need to purchase an emperor size specific bed frame for your mattress to fit on due to its size.

The emperor mattress is a great choice for tall couples who also share their bed with children and pets.

7 FOOT x 7 FOOT MATTRESS DIMENSIONS

The biggest mattress produced by companies (unless on request) is the 7 foot x 7 foot mattress. At 215 x 215cm, the mattress can fit extremely tall individuals and couples in, and still leave plenty of space for large pets and numerous children as well. Due to the enormous size of the mattress, the suggested bedroom size is for it to be at least 395 x 395cm (13 x 13 foot).

The largest mattress size offered by most mattress in a box companies, the 7 foot x 7 foot mattress, is equivalent to 215 x 215cm in metric terms. Often offered only as a made to measure bed, and widely known as the biggest bed size on the market, the 7 foot x 7 foot bed is a full 15cm wider and longer than the emperor. You will need a made to measure bed frame for the mattress.

The 7 foot x 7 foot mattress is great for those who like an exceptional amount of room in their sleep, and often have children or pets accompanying them as well.
